1st Corinthians 14:40 & 33
An Exercise for your family
1) Have your family members individually transcribe, or write down Matthew 6:33. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
2) Provide each family member with a clean sheet of paper and have them define the phrase "all these things" using Matthew 6:33 alone. *Everyone's answer should be different.
3) Next, have each family member turn over his or her sheet of paper and transcribe Matthew 6:31-33. "Therefore take not thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:31-33)
4) Finally, have them find and circle the words: "eat," "drink" and "clothed," and circle the phrase "all these things" as many times as it appears.
*****Anyhew. Why is the aforementioned so important? Because far too many many men and women use Matthew 6:33 to fleece or steal God's flock. Notice I have NOT said God wants you poor, because he doesn't. Notice that I also have NOT said that the body of Christ should not tithe. (Our ability to hear largely depends, collectively, upon being able to recognize the unspoken)

a little about us
We believe that it is the "goodness," or forbearance of God that leads men and women to repentance! His love -- his official Word to mankind, Jesus, is the SWEETEST THING we can know. (Peace with God via the Ultimate Sacrifice - Love unfeigned: unbridled, unparalleled and everlasting)
Simply put, our style falls between that of Independent, Baptist, Fundamentalism and Nondenominational Christianity. (Yes, we believe spiritual gifts are still in play today, however, not where mutual edification does not reign supreme) |
Our Services
A House of Prayer of Virginia is brand new! We are meeting at Pastor Todd's and look forward to meeting from home to home shortly thereafter - prior to moving into a building of our own. Phone Todd at 615.295.1747 for more information.

Todd Utzig Ministries refuses to bow to the prevailing winds of compromise and is not a non-profit organization, primarily due to our nation's Pro-Choice Stance both here and around the world. We would rather be taxed at higher rates and please the living God, Elohim, Jesus Christ than support an all-too-comfortable form of birth control and, at the same time, further the popular notion that irresponsibility can somehow be good for any civilized society.
If you are like us...
You understand that the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ is worth infinitely more than any material possession. Can anything be compared to the wonders of his mercy and grace? *Notice I have NOT said that God wants you poor.
If you are like us...
You believe that modest, modern music and the instruments used to create the selfsame are not sinful. *Yes, this pastor enjoys some rock-and-roll along with his collection of Country Music.
If you are like us...
You've learned that ultra-emotionalism almost never relates to a true move of God but you also realize that the gifts of the Spirit are still being utilized/manifested today. You love great "Praise and Worship" prior to a foundational message but you also realize that a church can sing and dance until the cows come home yet without the unadulterated, contextual word of God, there can be no true joy. Furthermore, all things are to be accomplished "decently and in order for God is NOT the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the Saints." (1 Corinthians 14:40b & 33)
In essence, if you are like us...
You believe that context, especially as it relates to the word of God is vital. You believe that the Bible, God's word, is not open to private to private interpretation. It interprets Itself when you let It.
If you are like us...
You are looking for something "in between" that which is already, in most cases, being offered today. *Notice that I have NOT said that there are not great and godly churches -- if you've found one already -- great. If not, we would love for you to visit us. A House of Prayer/Murfreesboro hopes to begin meeting every Saturday night beginning in either Mid-August or Early Septmember from 7 to 10 PM, but we're in need of an initial meeting location. Come be a part of one of Virginia's newest family of churches. Phone 615.295.1747 for more information.
